Masiakasaurus, the bizarre madagascarian noasaur. I wanted to show it in a non look-at-my-amazing-teeth scene.

Inspired, again, by beautiful bird photography: this time, those flamingos by Louis Blair.

Nice. So are the teeth being hidden by the top jaw? I agree with the non look-at-my-teeth thing, there are too many of them about, just like leather-skinned ornithomimusaurs.

Not exaclty being hidden, as if it had lizard lips. But I didn't want to make them so evident, especially since the animal is presented in a smallish scale so the teeth you look small anyway :P

Ment to comment on some of the stuff you've submitted, but forgot to... what I like in your works, is how you've achieved so much, with less details.
I'm always bothered by my own detail-rich painting style, as I enjoy impressionism and would love to make a succesful and realistic painting with only well-placed spots of colour, light and shadow.

I think the 'secret' is to focus the details on specific subjects. Sometimes people make very detailed paintings wich might end up being too crowded, perhaps in an effort to show as much as possible what we know of the skeleton, muscles, integument, environment etc (at least in the case of paleoart) and forget that in photography - and therefore in photorealistic art - things like focus, field of vision, lightning etc all interfere on how much detail can be seen, and on what is meant to be the important subject. IMO That's why very simple pieces can look more real than overy-detailed ones.

Thank you and feel free to comment, I always appreciate feedback of more experienced artists :)
